Over time we will increase the number of FAQs on the site, particularly as the new vetting service is introduced.

Current FAQs are as follows:

How will the new vetting service improve on the current schemes?
How will the new vetting service work?
How long will the registration process take?
How will the new arrangements affect employers or service providers in the voluntary sector?
How would an employer go about registering with the Vetting and Barring Scheme?
Can employers employ people while they wait for confirmation of their registration if they are supervised?
Will the vetting service help people who employ someone to work with children or vulnerable adults in their own home?
Will I still need to get a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Enhanced Disclosure or can I rely on the new vetting service?
Will previous information reffered to PoCA and PoVA schemes be considered by the ISA?
Will the ISA recieve all information on cautions and convictions of people registered with the Scheme?
If someone is barred under the new vetting service, do they have the right of appeal?
Will people be able to 'opt out' of the Vetting and Barring Scheme?
Will the new vetting service include Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales?
How much will it cost to apply to register with the Vetting and Barring Scheme?
