The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) is in the early
stages of creating its Single Equality Scheme. In December
2009 the organisation spent time with a number of representatives
from the voluntary, community, and private and public sectors to
help inform our equality and diversity work moving into 2010.
At the core of this work will be the delivery of a Single
Equality Scheme that will focus on current equality duties in
relation to Race, Disability and Gender, whilst also addressing the
new duties outlined in the Single Equality Bill in relation to
Religion or belief, Sexual Orientation, Age and Socio-economic
disadvantage.
A draft version of the Single Equality Scheme will be made
available for public consultation for up to a twelve week
period.
